As Expected
Candlelight: 90s Hip Hop on Strings put on a great show and sounded fantastic. Paul's voice is as good now as it ever was. The volume of the show was perfect, loud enough to rock out to but not too loud to distinguish the instruments from the vocals. I would like to say first and foremost that the opener may have picked the wrong band. I personally love Buckcherry and was there to see them as much as I was to see Candlelight: 90s Hip Hop on Strings. I was in the minority based on the crowd reaction when they were on stage. Some young man texting in front of me did not like the warmup band, which surprised me. He was closer to the age of Buckcherry's demographics. I would have guessed that was precisely the reason Candlelight: 90s Hip Hop on Strings hired them, but it didn't seem to work. They produce every single time, which is why I keep coming back.

My take on the Candlelight concert featuring 90s Hip Hop on Strings was fairly average. Despite being a big Candlelight fan, I found their performance to be lackluster. While Adam Levine is undoubtedly a fantastic vocalist, the overall show failed to capture my interest. The band consisted of seven members, with the guitarist moving around a bit but not much else happening on stage. The video screen behind them was underutilized, and there were no backup dancers or added entertainment to create that "Wow" factor. I had higher expectations for the show and based on this experience, I wouldn't attend another one of their concerts. I had hoped for a more captivating performance that would leave me eager to see them again. The band played 20 songs consecutively without much of a break, and the stage setup hinted at something special but ultimately fell flat with Levine simply pacing back and forth in his casual attire. Moving forward, I'd prefer to just enjoy their music through the radio.
Regarding the venue, the Golden 1 Center provided a pleasant setting for the concert. It was well-maintained and clean. However, the prices for food and drinks were exorbitant. I recommend eating and drinking before entering the venue to avoid the steep charges once you're inside.

I have to say that as far as good hard rock music is concerned, this was awesome. The guitarists were incredible. The energy of the crowd was a major plus. We had all grown up with Candlelight: 90s Hip Hop on Strings and it was fun to sing along with the band. Also, I figured, well, it's Candlelight: 90s Hip Hop on Strings and I loved them since I was a kid. I was ignorant of the fact that Sebastian Bach was not a part of this tour. In fact, I think that if the audience was the main vocalist, this concert would have been better than our main man. The lead was horrible. No charisma, no voice, just a washed-up, trailer trash-looking dude with skinny legs and a big gut who tried to scream more often than he actually could. Terrible. His voice compared to Sebastian Bach's was ridiculous. I don't even know why this guy is a lead. It was sad. But, like I said, the music and the crowd more than made up for that (thank god), and it's a show worth seeing.

The ATLive show itself was pretty good, but there were two major issues that somewhat affected people's experiences:
2) Right at the start of Candlelight: 90s Hip Hop on Strings set, the sound system for the back half of the house blew out and remained mostly inaudible for the first 30 minutes, causing many to leave upset. This was especially disappointing as he was the primary headliner and closing act for the night.
1) Even though more than half the bowl was open, the concessions on the upper bowl were mostly closed, resulting in a crowded experience for those seeking food, drinks, bathrooms, etc.

Candlelight: 90s Hip Hop on Strings put on an amazing show at Toyota Center Saturday night. She was in rare form, spending time in between songs visiting with the audience because, as she said, "she loves to talk!" The Pretenders opened with lots of energy. Chrissie Hynde was a great opener, but the sound was a little much and took away from the overall experience. The band was tight. Then, she took the stage and it was awesome. Set list had a great mix of oldies and newer songs, including some Fleetwood Mac tunes that didn't disappoint. She is a great entertainer with a top-notch band backing her up. Her stage setup is one of the best ever seen, ranging from picture collages to color changes to mood lights that go up and down; very high-tech. Go see Candlelight: 90s Hip Hop on Strings! She's still got it!
